Yin Yoga balances the Yang of our daily lives and other movement practices that are often geared towards achievement.
Our Yin practice helps us cultivate the art of being with what is - utilising gravity, time and our presence to deeply nourish beyond the muscles we are accustomed to working - into the fascia and connective tissues.
In a typical class we will begin by meditatively tuning in with the body, with breath and focus.
We will move slowly between postures which are usually held for 3-5 minutes.
It is here that the magic can begin - through these long held postures we develop resiliency of mind, and engage with our physiology in present awareness, which in turn calms the system significantly.
